On September 11, 2025, project assistant professor Eun Yae Son delivered an outreach lecture at Hakodate Nishi High School in Hokkaido. The talk, titled “How Physical Oceanographers Engage with Nature in the Ice-Covered Arctic During Their Observations and Life on an Icebreaker” featured stories from her recent fieldwork aboard the research vessel Polarstern.
